Whitlam & Mills Range Opened

There was a presentation this evening to honour the work done of our former; Cub Leader, Scout Leader, Group Scout Leader and current Group Skills Instructor, Dennis Whitlam. 

Dennis. with the help of Kevan Mills, established our Rifle Range as a dedicated activity.

The range has raised a lot of money for the Group over many years. More importantly it has shown a lot of young people in the District, County and neighbouring Counties how to shoot and respect air rifles.

Even after we unfortunately lost Kevan to illness, Dennis has spent years coaching young people and often remarks on what his mate did and how much he’d enjoy it today. Clearly, he’s still there in spirit!

Dennis unveiled the sign for the newly built range with Kev’s wife Carol and his sons Andrew and Darren Mills looking on. 

“The Whitlam & Mills Range” is now ready for its first shoot night and undoubtedly in the future some great Master at Arms Courses.
