Explorer Unit comes to the 44th
10th October 2019

In the 50th year since Neil Armstrong stepped out of the Lunar Excursion Module onto the face of the Moon during the NASA Apollo 11 mission, the 44th Nottingham Scout Group welcomes its first Explorer Unit.
The Apollo Explorer Scout Unit takes its name from the historic mission, in which a former Scout set foot on the Moon for the very first time.
After a presentation by Tim Reddish, Paralympic Blind Swimmer Team GB and Deputy Lord Lieutenant for Nottinghamshire, the Unit was officially opened.
